We recently had a long thread on moving to a different VCS and the rough
consensus was to stay with SVN for a variety of reasons, including it being
the choice that would make it most broadly easy to participate.

Personally, I don't have a lot of mental energy to go through a long
discussion again, so here's my bottom line:

The VCS I currently use elsewhere are CVS, SVN, BZR, and Git. I'm not
going to learn a new VCS for one Debian team, so if the team switches to
Hg, it will do so without me. My personal preference would be SVN or BZR
(also written in Python), but overall, I think SVN is still the best choice.
