What mis-handlings of a separate ‘debian/’ directory do you know of in
the other ‘$VCS-buildpackage’ tools?

I've not experienced any mis-handlings of separately-versioned
‘debian/’ with ‘bzr-buildpackage’, but perhaps you know of flaws that
I haven't encountered.
