I agree, this is allowed. If you want to have a TMDA package with .py[co] 
files in the .deb, you can do it this way, but you should also see the
drawbacks.

Yeah, think of us poor guys who have to pay per minute being Online
with a 33k modem. Filesize is money :(

I suggest comparing the file sizes. If your packages dont get a lot bigger
(eg. difference is < 5%), then precompile the .py files. Otherwise I
think the tradeoff is too much.
