Looking at http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/python/python/dist/src/LICENSE?only_with_tag=release21-maint you see that the changed license is in the python-2.1 maintanance branch as well. What about python packages based on this branch? I has the advantage of a recent version which can go into woody.
