this reads a bit stilted, and puts the most important information last,
and doesnt really make a 'point' -- and "voting" is the process rather
than the choosing:
"There were several amazing proposals so chosing a winner was not
easy. We encourage submitters to try again next year"
but: were they really "amazing" or is this hyperbole?
