Isn't the spiral a kind of mascot and identifies debian pretty well?
Would a mascot then compete with the spiral and perhaps replace it?
I like the spiral and don't see the need of a mascot, but thats of
course just my opinion and if the majority like to have a mascot, it's
totally fine.
