<p>As mandated by its <a href="http://www.debian.org/social_contract";>Social
Contract</a>, problems in Debian are documented in its <a
href="http://bugs.debian.org/";>Bug tracking system</a> which recently saw its
<a href="http://bugs.debian.org/500000";>500000</a>th entry (which means that
@@@ wins the small <a
href="http://people.debian.org/~bubulle/500000.html";>contest</a> announced by
Christian Perrier to guess the correct date. No reward is being awarded,
though.) This is a good opportunity to remind everybody that the bug tracking
system is an extremely valuable resource about known problems with Debian, and
probably the most important feedback channel for package maintainers.</p>

This is assuming that the bug itself is nothing special. Perhaps mention the
bug author anyway?

Feel free to edit in any way.
