HP [0] is #1 Linux server vendor according to IDC. Linux is at around 50% of High Performance Computing servers.
In an interview, Doug Small, the director of open source and Linux strategy at Hewlett-Packard Co, told HP closed contracts with large enterprise customers outside North America for the new Debian GNU / Linux support and deployment offerings [1].
These offerings were created because HP started to see lots of deployments of Debian GNU / Linux on large enterprises.
HP is very optimistic about their chances, based on results of the first month [2], even on the desktop [3].
