Dear Debian team,

I'm writing to you because we believe *FOSS Backstage 2026* might be an interesting conference for Debian.

FOSS Backstage focuses on the non-coding aspects of successful and sustainable free and open source software (FOSS) development, including *community*, *management*, and *compliance*. It's a platform for people to connect and discuss shared issues, best practices, and visions to improve FOSS development. It's also a great networking opportunity for industry experts and open source enthusiasts.

The eighth edition of FOSS Backstage will take place in *Berlin* and *online* on *March 16th and 17th, 2026*.

Our *Call for Participation *(CfP) has officially started! We're looking for talks that educate others on best practices in a number of areas, including:

  * Governance & Community
  * Economics
  * Legal & Compliance
  * Diversity & Inclusion
  * Growing Open Source
  * Security
  * Design/UX

You can submit a talk here <https://26.foss-backstage.de/call-for-participation/>. We also encourage you to share this CfP with your colleagues and network. We would appreciate submissions from anyone at Debian.

If you'd like to join us as an attendee <https://26.foss-backstage.de/tickets/>, be sure to grab a discounted *early bird ticket* while the CfP is still open.

We also offer *sponsorship* opportunities for those who want to raise brand awareness, show their support of FOSS communities, or present themselves to an audience of FOSS experts.. We have options <https://26.foss-backstage.de/become-a-partner/> for every budget and goal.

Visit our website <https://26.foss-backstage.de/overview/> to find out what to expect from FOSS Backstage 2026 including session highlight from past editions.

We're looking forward to the eighth edition of FOSS Backstage and hope to see Debian represented at our event!

Best regards from Berlin,
Alex and the FOSS Backstage team
