Response to Debian email!

So I received this email through my companies website concerning a link I had on the website of our distro RefreshOS...

"Please do not send your users to debian support resources. Debian mailing lists and irc/matrix channels only support debian, not distros based on debian, and when your users arrive we can only send them away. This is disrespectful to both your users and the debian community.

If you are going to have your own free OS it is your responsibility to help your own users with troubleshooting and setup issues."

First things first, I removed the link!

Second, I never told my users to reach out to debian for RefreshOS support. What I did was provide a link under "additional resources" in case they had a debian related issue. I made this clear on the website stating:

"For additional assistance, you may find helpful resources on the official Debian and KDE websites linked below. Please be aware that RefreshOS and eXybit Technologies are not affiliated with, nor do they represent, The Debian Project or KDE."

Please note that I have been a debian fan my entire Linux career but I've had two Debian conversations so far and both have felt very rude for no reason. I will be deploying my own support system this coming week and I do completely understand the confusion. The thing is, you all can relay a message and have a conversation without calling people disrespectful!
