I came to this bug report by coincidence while I was reviewing the
Debian "pseudo-packages" (

I'm glad you chose Debian, and sorry about the problem you faced,
and about nobody answering to you since then, if that was the case.
Your issue seems to be a user problem so it should be reported to
the user support channels:

or, if it's a bug in a package, maybe to packagekit or
gnome-packagekit... we keep "project" for the issues in "the Debian
Project" (the community, not the OS).
