dwn futur (take 2)

In [1] you wrote "...Please understand that due to this there may be no
future issues of DWN in the current form or that they will only be
released less frequently."
As a long time reader of DWN and because there is a "may" in the
previous sentence, please reconsider quitting
'cause you were doing a F**** great job at it and your work was much
appreciated. Thanks.
That said, I'm a bit suprised of the very few public discussions on the
subject. The ones I'm aware of are [2],[3] + Joeyh blog-post at [4] and
these discussions missed quite some feature of DWN. Here are a few for
the list :
- It's kinda official been under www.debian.org + lists.debian.org =
Debian Project Communication <> new webzine/blog/wiki on the cyber-block
. and the Joey^2 & all have done more than a decent job at staying
"impartial" as define in [11]
- it is provided via push [8] and pull [9] & [10]
- it's a _frozen_ snapshot of what apppend during the week in the debian
word
- it's archived
- provide the Debian Project with an History
- provide a user with a way to sync quickly about what append in the
project during a period (for news, security, new pkg, orphan)
- is printable : we have been using this feature at work to discuss the
news @debian during coffee break
- is translated
- the infrastructure are in place and documented [11]. (I discover this
page yesterday and I thing it should be more "advertized").
- and it seems that DWN was feeding the needs of quite a lot of us [6]
gives 34091 subscribers to d-news-*.
As a project boasting " Our priorities are our users and free software"
[7].4, I would suggest you guys take a bit more time to discuss, before
ditching the most used media to inform your users.
And the pb to solved is not "what technology to used" but it's "a
scaling pinguin" one".
