Some will disagree, but in my opinion if you find what you say here, Debian is 
not the right kind of Linux for you at the moment. The current (woody) 
installer and the configuration of XFree is not really that easy if you don't 
know a few basics about how unixy systems work, and a bit about what happens 
when a PC is booting. 

This is just what Debian is *now*. How Debian *should* be is another question 
again - and here I tend to agree with those that say Debian should be trying 
to be for everyone, not an 'elitist OS'. I'm looking forward to the new 
installer - from the things I've heard so far, it will be quite a step 
forward.
