Here is some help for understanding the general resolution.

By accepting this general resolution, we do NOT acknowledge the fact that
debian-private@l.d.o discussions can be discussed on IRC.

We only acknowledge the existence of #debian-private and that only
Debian developers have the right to join that channel. I don't discuss
any technical details about how to achieve this, it's not the subject
here.

Whether or not debian-private@l.d.o discussions can/should be discussed
on IRC (and in #debian-private) is NOT the subject here. If you want to
resolve that problem, please launch another general resolution.

The only intent of this general resolution is to define an open policy
for the #debian-* channels (except #debian-private which is not open to
everyone, please also note that the purpose of that #debian-private
channel is NOT (yet) defined).

I hope that this clarification will avoid a big useless flamefest.

Cheers,
