Happy new year to you all, dear Thorsten and the printing team. Is there any chance you can have a look at the proposed patch in <URL: https://bugs.debian.org/838788 >, in the issue which has been lingering for 8 years now? I would like to get rid of the hardcoded list of hardware mappings from the isenkram package, and use information provided using AppStream metadata XML in each individual package instead. The printer-driver-ptouch package is one of the ones remaining in the hardcoded isenkram list.
A PR on upstream would be appreciated: https://github.com/philpem/printer-driver-ptouchI notice from the bugs.debian link that there seems to be a QL-600 patch in place - this has been fixed upstream since 2023[1] but isn't in a numbered release.
I'm preparing to to cut a 1.7.1 release to get rid of the distro patches, and would be happy to bring in the XML addition provided it won't cause issues for other distributions.
