Dear Maintainer,
I bought a new ScanJet Pro 2500 f1.
After plugging it, I tried to scan a document,
but it is not detected by the scanning programs.
$ lsusb | grep -i hp;
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 03f0:6005 HP, Inc HP ScanJet Pro 2500 f1
I tried to follow the instructions I found here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1847142
However, the ones I could follow, didn't work
(as happened to the reporter of that bug too),
and there were others (at the end of that discussion;
about rebuilding hplip),
that I didn't understand, and so I couldn't follow.
I'm running sid, with a few experimental packages.
If you update experimental with a fix for this,
I'll be happy to test it.
Thanks,
Alex

installed to successfully run.
3. Both compile- and run-time check mode (-b or --both) (Default): This mode will check both

Thank you for your report and follow-up post, Alejandro.
HPLIP claim support for the HP Scanjet Pro 2500 f1 at
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/supported_devices/index
However, this support relies on the user installing a non-free plugin,
and it appears to be this plugin that ia at the root of the issue.
Debian cannot do anything about this, so therefore I am closing the
report.
This user did get the scanner operating:
https://answers.launchpad.net/hplip/+question/690958
Message #47 at
https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1847142
indicates the plugin is involved.
Regards,
Brian.
