IPP Printer Applications

Debian Printing,

As you probably know, CUPS is planning to remove support for filters in the future (in the next two years in CUPS 3.0).  Some distros are planning to move to an architecture called "Printer Applications."   I'm wondering if you're planning on doing the same.

I work on ChromiumOS Printing.
