Bug#935918: Brother not printing after Cups' upgrade

So the temporary solution I found here:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=248631

which is:

-edit your .ppd file, changing each? occurence of word "Custom" to "Other", and save :)

-restart cups

-using cups interface (localhost:631) delete your current printer, and add it again pointing to the modified .ppd file

That should do for now.

Just deleting the line with "Custom" (which I tried before finding the Arch solution) made the modified .ppd unreadable for Cups.

From the short survey, the problem seems universal - affects at least HP and Brother machines, at least Debian and Arch. Seems like something changed with the Cups itself :)
