Package: hplip
Version: 2.8.6.b-4

My printer is a Deskjet F2180 and is attached by USB to araminta, which is running an up to date lenny install. The original client in this case was Firefox running on Windows. It was probably trying to print a PDF (but the user isn't 100% sure).

Anyway instead of printing the following error is repeatedly logged to user.log:

May 2 18:01:15 araminta Deskjet_F2100_series?serial=CN86P4Q5F004TK: io/hpmud/musb.c 1338: unable to write data hp:/usb/Deskjet_F2100_series?serial=CN86P4Q5F004TK: Cannot allocate memory

$ grep -c 'unable to write data' /var/log/user.log
215621

Once would have been enough!

I checked with free(1) and my computer has plenty of memory.
