This does not look like a bug in cups. However, I do not know where to
reassign the report or even whether there is an issue with the live
image. Hence the CC to debian-live.

debian-live-9.0.0-i386-gnome.packages at

  https://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current-live/i386/iso-hybrid/

does not list cups or any printer-driver packages. (Only the cinnamon
image has them).
