Package: cups
Version: 1.5.3-5
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,
after upgrading from squeeze to wheezy printing on two of 5 printers failed with "Print file was not accepted."

Affected network printers are a Ricoh Aficio MP2000 and a Kyocera FS-2020DN.

Before the update everything was going well for more than three years.

Excerpt form /var/log/cups/error.log with LogLevel "debug"

D [08/Oct/2013:10:55:51 +0200] [Job 42] Set job-printer-state-message to "Print file was not accepted.", current level=ERROR

Sometimes Cups rejects the print job with "Validate-Job", sometimes with "Create-Job": "client-error-bad-request (client-error-bad-request)"
when printing from a network client. Printing locally seems to work.

The Kyocera had to be set to IPP version 1.1 explicit: ipp://x.x.x.x:631/ipp/lp1?version=1.1 or I get an error about "unsupported IPP version 2.0"

The printer server was purged completly and newly installed and configured, but the error still exists.
Tried also different PPDs for the two printers, but this doesn't help, too.

Sincerely yours

Axel Dürrbaum
