I get the same error.
I managed to print with:

# mkdir -p /etc/cups/ppd/usr/lib/cups/filter
# ln -s /etc/cups/ppd/Epson_2530.ppd
/etc/cups/ppd/usr/lib/cups/filter/epson-escpr-wrapper.ppd
# lp -d Epson_2530 /etc/nsswitch.conf
