Package: ghostscript Version: 9.15~rc1~dfsg-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, after upgrading ghostscript to r9.15 ps2pdf fails to process some eps files here. The bug occurred after I tried to import an EPS file into Inkscape which invokes ps2pdf. The complete errorlog given by ps2pdf is -------------------------------------- ps2pdf failed: Error: /undefinedresource in resourcestatus Operand stack: false ct_StyleDicts --dict:0/4(L)-- Adobe-Japan1 --dict:0/4(L)-- Serif HeiseiMin-W3-83pv-RKSJ-H Font HeiseiMin-W3 CIDFont Execution stack: %interp_exit .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- false 1 %stopped_push 1951 1 3 %oparray_pop 1951 1 3 %oparray_pop 1950 1 3 %oparray_pop --nostringval-- 1934 1 3 %oparray_pop 1820 1 3 %oparray_pop --nostringval-- %errorexec_pop .runexec2 --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 2 %stopped_push --nostringval-- --nostringval-- --nostringval-- 1899 10 9 %oparray_pop Dictionary stack: --dict:1187/1684(ro)(G)-- --dict:0/20(G)-- --dict:87/200(L)-- --dict:57/75(L)-- --dict:2/10(L)-- --dict:39/70(L)-- --dict:0/4(L)-- --dict:0/4(L)-- --dict:20/27(ro)(G)-- --dict:20/26(ro)(G)-- Current allocation mode is local Last OS error: No such file or directory GPL Ghostscript RELEASE CANDIDATE 1 9.15: Unrecoverable error, exit code 1 -------------------------------------------- ps2pdf fails for some EPS tested that were made with Indesign on Mac. The EPS files use the font "Gaspar" that I installed manually on the system by copying the font variants' files into /usr/share/fonts/opentype/gaspar. All EPS files were processed fine before the upgrade. Fonts still work fine with Inkscape and Libreoffice. Upgrading ghostscript to experimental (9.15~rc1~dfsg-1) did not help. thank you and best regards, Oliver -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.0.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages ghostscript depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.57 ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre44-4.2 ii libc6 2.19-19 ii libgs9 9.15~rc1~dfsg-1 ghostscript recommends no packages. Version: 9.16~dfsg-2 Hi Oliver, Quoting Oliver Grimm (2015-08-04 17:30:24) > please find attached a sample EPS file which triggers the bug. > > But today I upgraded to r9.16~dfsg-2 0, which fixes the bug anyway. > My original file as well as the sample file open fine now with ps2pdf. > Importing EPS files with inkscape works fine again, too. > > Therefore, I propose to close this bug. Thanks for reporting the bug - is has value even if only historically. Happy to hear that most recent Ghostscript fixes the bug.
