Thank you for all the testing you have done. Hopefully your use of
lpadmin will hold up on Wheezy and printing will continue to work for
you.

It is not in my hands, but I'm confident a cups maintainer will see your
mail and make a decision. A backport to Wheezy might be problematic
because stable generally only sees security fixes.
