Package: cups
Version: 1.4.4-7
Severity: normal
Tags: squeeze

The cups packages for squeeze where updated around 11-23-2010. When that
happened, postscript printing from emacs broke. From within emacs I do ps-
print-buffer like I always have, the print job goes to the printer, the page
comes out of the printer but instead of what I wanted, the page says:
ERROR: invalidfont lidfont
OFFENDING COMMAND: ): stringwidth

STACK:
()
/SpaceWidth

# ERRORINFO:

When I use the Debian snapshot archive and downgrade cups to 1.4.4-3, printing
from emacs works correctly again. I only downgraded cups, all of the other
cups packages I left at 1.4.4-7.

Not only has cups itself advanced but its filters have seen some changes
and now have their own package, cups-filters. It may very well have been
one of these filters which was acting up at the time.

I'm going to close this report and mark it as fixed in the cups version
in Jessie. Thank you for such a quick response.

Cheers,

Brian.
