A detailed error log is obtained after doing

   cupsctl --debug-logging

But first we hope your Debian is on Wheezy. Testing or unstable would
be better.

A preliminary test shows the filtering system for your printer with Splix
operating as expected. Howver, what we would like to know is whether you
are still having issues.
