Package: ghostscript Version: 9.05~dfsg-6.3 Severity: normal Tags: patch fixed-upstream Forwarded: http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=693045 The version of ghostscript in wheezy has an infinite loop that causes it to print the line in the subject many times. The bug has been fixed upstream in git commit ghostpdl-9.07rc1~262[1]. On one of the servers at my workplace we noticed this because one of our internal scripts generated a 20GB log file. After I applied the patch to wheezy the log file went down to 38MB. Please upload an update for wheezy so that this issue can get fixed in the next point release. We will use our internal rebuild of the package until then. 1. http://git.ghostscript.com/?p=ghostpdl.git;a=commitdiff;h=3a56f4eb5a9f15795725374b297edab0fb8ebc5d -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages ghostscript depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.49 ii gsfonts 1:8.11+urwcyr1.0.7~pre44-4.2 ii libc6 2.13-38 ii libgs9 9.05~dfsg-6.3 Versions of packages ghostscript suggests: pn ghostscript-cups <none> pn ghostscript-x <none> pn hpijs <none> -- bye, pabs http://wiki.debian.org/PaulWise
