SpliX from Debian merged into Ubuntu
Hi,
I have merged the newest Debian package of SpliX into Ubuntu. Following
changes I have done in Ubuntu and I recommend to get them also into the
Debian package to be able to use identical (source) packages in Debian
and Ubuntu:
- debian/patches/0005-samsung-clp-610-610nd-do-not-work.patch: Removed
support for the Samsung CLP-610 and CLP-610ND, these printers do not
work with SpliX (Ubuntu bug #898986).
These printers do not work with SpliX and therefore I have removed them
from the .drv file. I have done this change also upstream, as SVN rev.
307. So update the upstream code instead of using the patch.
- debian/README.debian: Updated.
Some hints about the packaging and JBIG, not really needed. If you do
not take it in Debian, I will discontinue it, too.
- debian/local/apport-hook.py: Apport hook.
You should take it into Debian but like with other printing-related
packages wrap a check whether the distro is Ubuntu around the command
line to install the hook in debian/rules.
- debian/splix.ppd-updater: Fixed for use with dynamically generated
PPD file.
The PPD updater in the current Debian package is broken and does not
work after the switchover to use the .drv files. It was probably not
updated. I have a fixed and tested version in the Ubuntu package. Please
use it. Her it is
DRIVER_REGEXP='^drv:///splix-[a-zA-Z0-9]*\.drv/'
GENNICKNAME_REGEXP='s/,(\s*SpliX|)(\s*V\.?|)\s*[\d\.]*$//i'
I am very grateful if you could apply these changes to the Debian
package. Thanks in advance.
Till
