Package: ghostscript (ps2pdf gs gimp problems)
Version: 8.62
Severity: important

Hello,
I've installed lenny about a week ago, clean installation (had etch
before on the same machine Dell Latitude D420) and noticed something
wrong about ps2pdf command right away, but hoped it would sort itself.
Now I am thinking that it wont, in fact, whenever I call any of
the ps2pdf file.ps or gs file.ps
commands, nothing happens and the system becomes very slow, all other
applications seem to mostly stall, and I am obliged to turn off the
computer.
Even gimp has trouble opening a .ps file (again the system starts to
become very slow and I have to turn it off).
I found this website
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=475817
but am not sufficiently competent to really see if this is
relevant nor to install the version 8.64 of ghostscript,
lenny insists (there are broken dependencies otherwise) on version 8.62.

With kind regards,
Vlada L
