Thanks.  I tried using lowriter to make an example (test.ps),
converted it to PDF with "ps2pdf test.ps" (test.pdf), and indeed, the
result is not searchable in evince.

By contrast,

	man -t time >time.ps
	ps2pdf time.ps

produces a searchable PDF.

So this is a bug or missing feature.  Hints or other insights toward
implementing this would be welcome.
