To help people find this bug quicker when searching, I'll add the error 
message that I got, and finally found this bug and updated.

Only updating to the latest package did not work:

kernel: hpcups: segfault at 860f23c ip b72b68e4 sp bfac487c error 6 in libc-2.13.so[b7249000+153000]

But, re-running hp-setup and downloading the driver made it possible for 
me to print again.

Lastly, I'm not sure if this is an interesting error message or not.  It 
did print anyway.

hp-firmware: error: hp-firmware -u/--gui requires Qt4 GUI support. Entering interactive mode.
