Package: foomatic-db
Version: 20040705-1
Severity: normal

The PPDs generated for the LaserJet 6P and 6MP do not properly reflect
the hardware margins. For the 6P with Letter paper:

*PageSize Letter/US Letter: "<</PageSize[612 792]/ImagingBBox null>>setpagedevice"

and:

*PageRegion Letter/US Letter: "<</PageSize[612 792]/ImagingBBox
null>>setpagedevice"

In other words, identical.

For the 6P PCL file, it says:

*ImageableArea Letter/Letter: "18 14.40 594 777.60"
*HWMargins: 18 14.40 18 14.4

At http://lprng.sourceforge.net/DISTRIB/RESOURCES/DOCS/pcl5comp.pdf,
page 35 (1-27), there is a chart listing printable areas.

For the laser printers covered by this document, including the 6P/6MP,
there is a non-printable region of 1/3 inch on all sides. That would
translate to 24 points.

Okay, thanks for your answer. I think the most sensible at this point is to
close this bug: please open a new one with recent information if you encounter
a new bug.

Thanks for your time !
