Hello,

Given the PostScript file at

    http://nova.stanford.edu/%7Ecpbl/rsync/econNova/603/chari_kehoe_98.ps

(which seems at first glance to be the output of Ghostscript's pswrite
driver), the command

gs -dNOPLATFONTS -dNOPAUSE -dQUIET -dSAFER -sDEVICE=bbox \
	-dBATCH -sOutputFile=/dev/null chari_kehoe_98.ps 2>&1

produces bounding boxes that exclude the white background that each page
in the original file begins by painting. This means that when a piece
of software (like psbind: http://www.digitas.harvard.edu/~ken/psbind/)
trusts the bounding box information generated by gs to merge pages from
this PostScript file with other things on the same page, the white
background paints over surrounding material unexpectedly.

Thank you,
	Ken
