Bug#587899: /usr/sbin/cupsd: symbol lookup error
Hello !
I received the same error:
Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd/usr/sbin/cupsd: symbol
lookup error: /usr/sbin/cupsd:
undefined symbol: _httpReadGNUTLS
But there is a solution to it:
I had an older version of cups installed which somehow didn't upgrade
automatically.
These were the cups dependancies:
ii cups 1.4.1-4
Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server
ii cups-client 1.4.4-1

ii libcups2-dev 1.4.4-1

ii libcupscgi1 1.4.4-1

ii python-cups 1.9.48-1

I did "aptitude update" and "aptitude install cups", which installed:
ii cups 1.4.4-1
Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server
And it solved the problem.
I hope it helps.

Jan
