Package: hpijs
Version: 3.9.4b-1
Severity: important

During my recent upgrade to Debian unstable I completed lost the
possibility to print. What happen is that my print job are processed but
no pages are really printed. Moreover, once a print job is complete the
printer is in a strange state: its display show the text "hp photosmart"
as usual, the power light is green, but the power off button does not
work. The only solution is to remove the power cable and replug it
later. Printer is HP Photosmart 7660.

While printing I have these processes running:

Previously, when a print job was sent to the printer, the printer green
light used to blink. Now this does not happen anymore.

If I run a print job when the usb cable is not connected, I correcly see
error messages in syslog, like this:

Jun 28 22:25:12 scarafaggio photosmart_7600_series?serial=MY3B7320S1K2: io/hpmud/musb.c 1104: unable to open hp:/usb/photosmart_7600_series?serial=MY3B7320S1K2

Moreover, if I start cups while the printer is not connected, the
restart the printer, then plug the usb cable => the printer correctly
print the first print job, then the printer hangs. Second job is left is
processed but nothing is printer on paper.

Bye,
Giuseppe

Ross,

I'm closing your report as of version 3.10.2, as it has been superseded by the
newer release upstream.

If you are still experiencing this issue, please feel to reopen this report,
but please upgrade to the current version of this package in testing/ unstable
and also use the reportbug(1) tool to provide further detail of your current
configuration.

Thanks,
Mark
