Package: foomatic-db-gutenprint
Version: 5.2.3-2
Severity: normal
I have upgraded cups/foomatic to latest in unstable, however if I try printing
the CUPS testpage, there is about a 2cm empty space at the bottom, and if I
measure the "inch markers" then 1 inch results in 1.9cm when measured
(~0.74 inch).
When I print a document, this problem is very obvious, since the document apears
cut at on edge, and starting ~2cm off. This is particularly obvious when
printing landscape.
After downgrading cups/foomatic to lenny, the testpage is printed correctly
(covers entire area of page).
I used the following command to downgrade:
sudo aptitude install cups-bsd/stable cups-client/stable cups-common/stable cupsddk/stable cupsddk-drivers/stable cups-driver-gutenprint/stable cups-pdf/stable foomatic-db/stable foomatic-db-engine/stable foomatic-db-gutenprint/stable foomatic-db-hpij/stable foomatic-filters/stable foomatic-filter-ppd/stable foomatic-gui/stable libcups2/stable libcupsimage2/stable libcupsys2/stable libgnomecups1.0-1/stable libgutenprint2/stable
Printer details:
Description: Samsung ML-2010
Location: Local Printer
Printer Driver: Samsung ML-2010 Foomatic/gdi (recommended)
Printer State: idle, accepting jobs, published.
Device URI: hal:///org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/usb_device_4e8_326c_3T21BKCL402412V__if0_printer_noserial
Not sure which package this bug belongs to (foomatic or cups).

Upgrading to another version of cups/foomatic along the way made
everything work again,
and it has been working fine think quite some time, so I think this bug
can be closed.

Because foomatic/gdi was the recommended driver in CUPS's list when I
added my printer,
I removed all foomatic packages, and used the SpliX driver. It seems to
be working just fine.

Thanks for the explanation.
