Package: cupsys-client
Version: 1.1.20final+cvs20040330-3
Severity: normal
I'm using cups with an appletalk ethernet laserwriter. I have a script
that drives the pap program that came from the web. In cups, I have the
Apple ppd for this printer.
I pulled down a pdf and tried to print it from within xpdf. The
printing fails because the pdf was converted to postscript level 3,
which the printer rejected. Manually converting the pdf to level 2 with
pdf2ps and printing the resulting ps works fine.
I'm not sure if xpdf is converting to ps, but either way, the printing
system should convert to ps level 2, either from ps level 3 or from pdf.
