Package: cupsys-bsd
Version: all

When presented with an invalid queue name
/usr/lib/cups/daemon/cups-lpd exists with an error code, frequent
retries result in inetd killing the process.

typical log:
/var/log/daemon.log.0:May 2 06:27:04 knight-ridder inetd[9337]: printer/tcp server failing (looping), service terminated

If cups-lpd exited with code 0 and logged the failure contition inetd
would continue to run the service.

Honestly I'm no longer able to reproduce the bug in the version I
reported it in, which is an excellent reason to go ahead and close the
bug
