I just uploaded a new version of gutenprint, so foomatic-db-gutenprint
is probably appropriate. It's possible a new version of foomatic is
required (I'm afraid I don't use foomatic myself, so I can't really
assist with finding the cause of the problem, but I can fix it if you
find what's wrong).

Some suggestions:

1. You should probably delete and recreate your print queue in CUPS.
We don't do any automatic setup for foomatic queues, and the old
configuration is probably not completely compatible with the
    new version of gutenprint.

2. What printer make/model are you using?

I'm wondering /why/ you are using foomatic at all, since if you
are using CUPS, it's pointless (just install cups-driver-gutenprint
and select your printer make/model in the CUPS printer setup pages.

This is the supported method for using Gutenprint with CUPS. We
make sure upgrade are completely automatic with this method as well,
so you never need to manually recreate your print queues on upgrade.

Basically, as I see it, foomatic is a generic "glue" for connecting
printer drivers to printing systems. But, since gutenprint
supports CUPS natively, it's an extra (very complex) layer of
software you don't actually need. Very few of us actually understand
it, and unless you run an alternative printing system to CUPS such
as LPD or LPRng, you probably don't need it.

Roger
