Package: cupsys
Version: 1.3.7-5
Severity: important

Hello CUPS maintainers,

On an up-to-date testing system, can't cupsd be started.

| A package failed to install. Trying to recover:
| Setting up cupsys (1.3.7-5) ...
| Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsd/usr/sbin/cupsd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/cupsd: undefined symbol: _httpReadGNUTLS
| invoke-rc.d: initscript cupsys, action "start" failed.

The error in less then 80 characters

| /usr/sbin/cupsd: undefined symbol: _httpReadGNUTLS

What is needed to get cupsd running again?

Cheers
Geert Stappers

Right, and that was indeed declared in Etch:

Package: libcupsys2
Replaces: cupsys-client (<= 1.1.10-2), libcupsys2-gnutls10 (<= 1.1.23-11)
Provides: libcupsys2-gnutls10
Conflicts: gs-esp (<< 7.05.6-2), cupsys-driver-gimpprint (<< 4.2.5-3), libcupsys2-gnutls10 (<= 1.1.23-11), cupsys (<< 1.2.1)

So the upgrade from Sarge to Etch should have taken care of this. So
it seems you tried to upgrade from sarge to unstable directly? Sorry,
skipping stable releases isn't supported in Debian.

You figured it out for your system, so I don't think there's anything
to be done about this any more. Closing report.

Thank you!

Martin
