I have tried reinstalling. The original URI is from the regular cups install.
I tried changing that to one with HP stuff in it. I then reinstalled.
The printer works just fine.
Downgrading the package as recommended on a post found by google had it
working. Actually, the printer does not support the functionality that I
wanted hplip to control such as head alignment and cleaning.
