Bug#458291: Please reopen #457771, hplip: hp-setup fails to find PPD file

I've just installed version 2.8.2 and this bug is still there. By specifying standard C locale I can work around this bug, as earlier suggested.

This bug is also reported in #467117 and it seems that the same problem is causing bug #458291. I quote the workaround below.

Cheers,
Slaven

Package: hplip
Version: 2.7.10-5
Severity: important

Error message frpm hp-setup:
error: PPD not file found. An appropriate PPD file could not be found.
Please check your HPLIP install, use Select Other..., or download
one from linuxprinting.org.

Same problems here, indeed related to locale management, with error
messages like this:

'error: Invalid locale: fr_BE.utf8'

If you're looking for a simple workaround to make hp-setup work (and
other hplip binaries too), just run the commands in any console, but
specifying the standard C locale, like this:

yourbox:~# LANG=C.iso8859.1 hp-setup

then other tools will work in the same way, eg
