Package: cupsys-driver-gutenprint
Version: testing

I just updated cupsys and cupsys-driver-gutenprint to get support for
my Epson Stylus Photo RX500. The printer does not work, and the CUPS
error log says:

E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: The version of
Gutenprint software installed (5.0.0) does not match the PPD file (5.0.0-rc2).
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: If you have upgraded your version of Gutenprint
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: recently, you must reinstall all printer queues.
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: If the previous installed version of Gutenprint
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: was 4.3.19 or higher, you can use the `cups-genppdupdate.5.0'
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: program to do this; if the previous installed version
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: was older, you can use the Modify Printer command via
E [12/Jul/2007:01:37:45 +0000] [Job 43] Gutenprint: the CUPS web interface: http://localhost:631/printers.

I tried both

root@shiva:~/bin# cups-genppdupdate.5.0
/etc/cups/ppd/rx500.ppd: no valid candidate for replacement. Skipping
/etc/cups/ppd/rx500.ppd: please upgrade this PPD manually Failed to update any PPD files

and modifying the printer via the CUPS web interface, no luck. The strange thing is that the ppd file says:
*FileVersion:	"5.0.0"
So I don't know where CUPS or Gutenprint is getting the idea that it is version (5.0.0-rc2).
