Hi folks, Gutenprint provides libgutenprintui1-1 and libgutenprintui1-dev packages; these are a GTK+-1.2 version of GUI components used by the GIMP Print dialogue in the gimp-print and libgutenprintui2-1 and libgutenprintui2-dev packages, respectively. The only user of these packages was Cinepaint, which is still using GTK+-1.2, and is abandoned upstream and unmaintained in Debian. The next major stable release of Gutenprint will drop this library (already removed in the development series). I have patched and NMUd cinepaint to contain a static copy of libgutenprintui1-1, in order to keep it working. This drops the build-depends on libgutenprintui1-dev. However, cinepaint appears to be extremely buggy, and so should probably be removed for Lenny. I have subsequently dropped the libgtk1.2-dev dependency from gutenprint and stopped building these two library packages. Regards, Roger -- .''`.
