Package: cupsys
Version: 1.2.5-1
Severity: important

The current version of CUPS is broken with respect to selecting the proper
printer model. Only a few models are presented:

EPSON 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.2 (en)
EPSON 24-Pin Series CUPS v1.2 (en)
EPSON New Stylus Color Series CUPS v1.2 (en)
EPSON New Stylus Photo Series CUPS v1.2 (en)
EPSON Stylus Color Series CUPS v1.2 (en)
EPSON Stylus Photo Series CUPS v1.2 (en)

I have a Stylus C84, and none of these is correct. Thus, I am forced to go find
the correct PPD in /usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint/5.0/en

I don't know if this is fixed in unstable, but I figure it would be harder to
manually install those packages and all their dependencies than to just use the
above workaround.

I'm now using 1.2.11-3 from testing, and the model selection seems to be okay
now.

Thank you for your reply. Closing this bug.
