Package: cupsys
Version: 1.1.20final+rc1-5
Severity: minor
a silly thing to do, but when first setting up cups & experimenting with
different settings I defined a printer named epsonStylusCX5200#3, it
wasn't the configuration I decided to keep, but I could never delete it
through the web interface... not a big deal, but annoying
Today I noticed it is due to the "delete" button using printer_name as a
key:
http://localhost:631/admin/?op=delete-printer&printer_name=epsonstyluscx5200#3
In effect, trying to delete a printer called only epsonstyluscx5200 due
to the special meaning '#' has in URLs
Changing the '#' to '%23' in both the "delete" URL & the
"confirm-delete" URL, I was able finally to get rid of this annoyance
Thanks,
Kenneth

At least CUPS 1.2 series disallow to use /, #, space in a printer name.
I close this bug.
