Package: cupsys
Version: 1.1.18-2
Severity: normal

The documentation and the implementation don't match (and I like the
doc better :-().

The manpage for lpadmin (in COMPATIBILITY secion) says :
CUPS allows printer names to contain any printable character
    except SPACE and TAB.

That means a hyphen is valid, right? However :

# lpadmin -p 'foo-bar'
lpadmin: Printer name can only contain letters, numbers, and the underscore!

I'd like to see hyphen allowed in a printer name, but it would still
be an improvement if the manpage matched the implementation.

Tested with 1.2.11-3:

I am now able to use lpadmin to create and manipulate printers and
classes with '-' the name in accordance with the documentation.

Contrary to popular belief, Unix is user friendly.
It just happens to be selective about who it makes friends with.
