Bug#383091: Networked printer, same problem?
I seem to have the same problem, but my printer is networked:
Acer 8003 running Knoppix 5.1.1 (Linux kernel 2.6.19)
CUPS 1.2.7 with Foomatic/pxlmono (recommended) driver
Netgear FVS-318
Samsung ML-2250 with Netgear PS101 network adapter/fileserver
Most recently, I have: Printer State: stopped, accepting jobs, published
Device URI: socket/ML-2250/9100 (which works with Knoppix 3.4)
I've gotten two test pages and sometimes Print Test Page yields a page with:
PCL6 ERROR - Incomplete Session by time out
POSITION: 0x55 (85)
SYSTEM: XLPGP/os_hook
LINE: 1937
VERSION: PCL6 3.38 10-12-2004
Just now, I clicked Print Test Page and got a different error message:
(ML-2250 "Unable to open print file "/var/spool/cups/d00031-01" - permission denied")
but no output, same as always. The job count number (31) indicates that CUPS knows about some of my previous attempts, but I had to reinstall the printer (again).
I hope this helps and that someone can find the problem.
Thanks.
George
