I tried to connect a Samsung CLP-550N. Same error as described. Tried to
change to file: instead of usb: which seemed to work. I
don't know because the printer isn't in my office. Driver is generic
postscript.

I tried also to use the parallel port, but I got permission denied on
/dev/lp0 although group lp has write-permission. When I changed
permission to 666, the error didn't appear, but nevertheless it didn't
print.

I'm lucky that the printer has a network interface which could be used,
because, when I first tried file:, cups aborted without a
message.

I hope the bug will be solved.
