Bug#380518: lo fine?

Philippe Cloutier wrote:
I hardly expect this to be the problem, but what does ifconfig lo; output?

Hi Philippe,

I sent the below email quite some time ago, from a different email address. Sorry it didn't seem to get through. I still have a problem with SWAT, but the CUPS web interface does work now. Not trouble free though, pressing some buttons caused crashes and the config file to get corrupted, so I haven't used it again. I cannot clean print heads or check ink level on an Epson Stylus C82 (usb) via KDE, CUPS web page, or gnome programs. I can print test pages or other pages, but the output is so faint as to be illegible. The whole CUPS update has meant no printing for months now for me I'm afraid. I haven't seem any other bug reports about the faint printing issue, so I'm just waiting and hoping. Sorry to have to say that. Thanks for all the hard work and strife-I guess the software wasn't written by you!! Ta, Arthur

Hi. I have found the problem. My /etc/hosts had got screwed up somehow. Realised this when trying to access SWAT and that didn't work either. Sorry for the bug report. Thank you for the work you do. Cheers. Arthur
